FlowJo is a software company that creates industry-leading bioinformatics and data analysis software for flow cytometry and single-cell RNA sequencing, located in Ashland, Oregon.
I started working at FlowJo in September 2017 in the sales department as the Commercial Operations Intern. Here I interfaced directly with high-level customers, sending quotes, packaging orders, and managing customer profiles in our customer relationship management program Hubspot. Over time I took on more complex projects, working across departments to edit the Cell Sort Podcast, organize internal events, and plan the premier sponsor activity at the Rouge Valley MakerFair.
In June of 2019 I transferred officially to the marketing department as the Digital Media Intern. Here I took ownership of our social media channels, write blog posts, create resource pages, continued to plan our sponsorship at the Rouge Valley MakerFair, and worked with multiple departments to produce hours video content for FlowJo University and FlowJo Webinars.
Created for the FlowJo website and posted to Youtube, I worked across departments to produce multiple series of product education. We created hours of video content to meet our customer needs. Understanding flow cytometry, high dimensional data analysis, and single-cell RNA sequencing isn’t easy but we broke it down into step-by-step video guides that introduced users to the product, answered FAQs, and gave expert advice from the people who know it best.
A 9 part video series I produced in collaboration with the FlowJo Technical Support Team answering the most common questions users had about the product and showing off their favorite tricks and techniques in the application.
A 12 part video series introducing users to SeqGeq™ [seek-geek], a desktop application for analyzing gene expression data from single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). This series was created in collaboration with the undisputed expert in all things SeqGeq™, product owner Ian Taylor.
I worked with the team of Application Scientists, internal specialists, tech support team members, and product owners to faciliate the distribution of FlowJo’s webinar series.
Buyer Persona Project:
I updated our buyer persona data for the sales office, including creating custom badges for each buyer as part of the report presented to upper management.
